Boys track places fourth at conference

On Thursday night the boys track team traveled to Madison to compete in the Hoosier Hills Conference meet. Floyd Central finished in first place with 116 points, Jeffersonville placed second with 115, New Albany in third with 110, and East in fourth with 109.

East had multiple athletes come away winning their respective events. Senior TC O’Neal took first place in long jump and the 400 meter race. O’Neal also won the 4×100 relay with junior Kolby Mitchell, junior Jamon Hogan, and senior Cam Wilson. senior Jared Clark also won discus and senior Paul Bean won the 1600 meter race.

East also gained points in a few other events. O’Neal placed second in high jump and Wilson placed third in the 100 meter race.

The team hopes to have a good turnaround with sectionals being next week. Sectionals are hosted at Columbus North on Thursday, May 18.
