BCSC superintendent to retire after 2015-2016 school year

Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation Superintendent Dr. John Quick has announced that this school year will be his last as superintendent. This decision, announced Monday, comes after an impressive 13 years in this position.

Following Quick’s 25 years in the school corporation, he has big plans that do not all include Bartholomew County.

“I have four grandchildren, so they’re a top priority. Their father is being deployed to Afghanistan in November…so they’re kind of on my mind and they’re in upstate New York”, said Quick.

In addition, Quick plans on spending time with other family and friends, riding his horse, and continuing to teach a class at Ball State University.

“BCSC has always been a terrific school district. It was terrific when I got here twenty-five years ago, and it’ll be terrific twenty-five years from now”, Quick said.

By the time he retires in July, Quick will have seen this senior class through all of their Elementary, Middle and High School years in some type of poetic resolution.
