Convenient Ways For Teens to Make Money

Hannah Harris

Whatever the reason you need money, whether it’s to pay for gas or to buy the latest Xbox, it can be hard to find the time to work between school and extracurricular activities. However, making money doesn’t have to be completely out of your convenience.

Tutor

Tutoring is an appropriate way for current students to make money. After all, tutoring is all about teaching topics you already know about. There are tutoring opportunities found through student organizations such as Key Club or through Kumon in Columbus.

Do yard work for the neighbors

Whether it’s mowing the neighbor’s lawn, raking leaves, or shoveling snow, doing yard work is both a convenient and respectful way to make some extra cash. All you have to do is put yourself out there by going door-to-door or asking people you know.

Sell your stuff

What’s better than decluttering your life while earning money in the process? Apps like Poshmark, Mercari or LetGo provide easy ways to put an item on the market through a few, quick buttons.

Babysit

Maybe watching kids for a number of hours isn’t your forte, but it does tend to pay fairly well. You’re in charge of someone’s life, after all. By having connections through family friends or advertising your willingness to babysit on the internet, babysitting jobs aren’t that hard to find.

Turn your hobbies into cash

From giving guitar lessons to selling graphic design t-shirts, there are endless amounts of ways you can earn cash from doing something you love. Even if you aren’t making the big bucks, which most teenagers aren’t anyway, at least you are pursuing something you love.
