Celebrities’ Power to Donate

It is no surprise that celebrities have money, but what you might not know is that they use their money for good. Some celebrities donate millions of dollars to charities that range from wildlife conservation to major hospitals. Some of these celebrities are Peyton Manning and Kylie Jenner.

In 2003 Peyton Manning, previous quarterback for the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos donated an estimated $50 million. The money he donated went towards the St. Vincent Children’s Hospital which is now known as the Peyton Manning Children’s Hospital.

After a huge wildfire broke out in Australia some celebrities jumped to the rescue by donating money to foundations such as the Steve Irwin foundation. Kylie Jenner has recently donated $1 million to the Australian bushfire efforts along with many others. You can read more about these donations and the Australian fires in the new issue coming out in February.

Celebrities should continue to utilize their platforms to not only promote themselves but also to help promote charities and helping others. Having an effect on millions or even billions of people should be used to better others not to tear others down.

Celebrities donate a lot more than what is shown to the public eye. Sometimes donations are not documented on record, which tends to happen with celebrities. Some celebrities tend to keep their donations on the low, for example Nicki Minaj was donating to charities for years but was not found out until a year or so ago.

People tend to listen to celebrities more than anyone else, therefore celebrities should be using their power for the better.
