The Columbus East Lady Olympian basketball team has opened up their season with a 4-2 record. Both of the losses came to tough opponents, the first being to the defending 2A State Champions Heritage Christian by a score of 58-47.

The Olympians return experienced players from last season, losing only one starter. East has a lot of talent from Juniors Addy Galarno, Brittany Ballard and Kristen Lyons, who are all three-year starters.

The two other starters include Sophomore Claire Cunningham and Senior Karli Reynolds.

Reynolds, who transferred from Columbus North at the beginning of last year, has been a big scoring threat for the Lady O’s.

When Kristen Lyons was asked what the team needs to focus on the rest of the year to continue their successful play, she said, “As a team I think we need to focus on continuing to play as a team and keep attacking on both ends of the court.”

East’s next game is December 7 at Silver Creek, and they will face No. 10 Columbus North December 15.
