Photo Gallery: Gymnastics takes 3rd at regionals to advance to State

The Olympians hosted the final qualifying round of the state gymnastics tournament on Friday night, March 3. As a team, East will advance to the state championship from their third-place finish and a score of 108.925. North found a first-place finish with a score of 111.050, despite a few slip-ups from their top gymnasts. Bloomington South came in second with a score of 110.850.

East will be competing at the State Finals alongside Columbus North, Bloomington South, Fort Wayne Bishop Dwenger, Carroll, Homestead, Valparaiso, Chesterton, Merrillville and other individual qualifiers.

The state finals will be held on Saturday, March 11 at Worthen Arena, located on the Ball State University campus. The opening ceremonies will begin at 12:30 p.m. and the competition will begin at 1 p.m. Cost is $10 to get in and $5 for parking. See ihsaa.org for more information.
