Dear Mr. Lynott,
I remember walking into your classroom the first day of school my freshman year. I remember sitting down and thinking, “He seems like a cool dude, but he is definitely going to get annoyed with my class quickly.” I ended up being somewhat right because my class was always the most energetic class. Little did I know that having you as a teacher would make high school better.
Thank you for being such an amazing Biology teacher my freshman year in 2018. You always make sure that your students are having fun but still understanding what they are learning. All of the fun labs that you do, such as the ones where you get to dissect a flower and a pig, to trying to figure out the maze that a marble has to go through in a tiny box.
I also want to thank you for letting me help your freshman Biology class my sophomore year. I truly enjoyed getting to interact with the students and help them with their labs. I am looking forward to helping you again next year; it will be a great way to end my senior year!
You are truly a wonderful teacher when it comes to Biology and life in general. I remember when I came up to your room in a panic during one of my resources this year because I had just gotten a letter. The letter was from one of the top Marine Biology programs in the U.S., Hawaii Pacific University. I remember that you told me, “Go for it because you only get one chance.” We both sat there and talked about all the cool possibilities that could happen and that’s when I told you my master plan. My master plan to film a video of a great white shark but without being in a cage and you just looked at me with a concerned look. I specifically remember you looking at me and saying “You realize that they use chum and blood to lure the sharks in right?” Then we just there and laughed at how stupid the idea was.
I would always go to your room during 8th mod this year while I was waiting for Mr. Walls to show up to unlock the door. I would just talk to you about how my day went. You would make comments or give me some advice while I just ate all the mints you had.
Also I am sorry for eating all your mints and I promise that I will buy you a new bag at the start of next year, but I cannot promise that I will not eat them.
As a student who has struggled a lot with personal and school issues, you have helped majorly, and I hope that you continue to brighten up the days for your future students. Thank you again for being the best you possibly could be.
Sincerely,
Shelby Morrow
