Boys and Girls Swim vs. Madison

Senior night has always been a beloved tradition at Columbus East. On January 10, the East swim team recognized senior athletes, their future plans and favorite memories, which made for a memorable night. The male seniors honored included: Brady Beyer, Ivan Bondar, Spencer Erfmeier and Rylan Perkins.

The influence these seniors have left on underclassmen will leave an impact on the swim program for years to come. Sophomore Eli Issacs values the senior leadership.

“The seniors this year have shown the whole team how to take action and help push everyone to meet our goals,” Isaacs said.

Along with the celebration of accomplishments, fans and fellow team members are left to reflect on how far the seniors have come.

“We will miss them, but we will all be proud of the way they handled everything and plan on repeating the way they encouraged us next year.”

The seniors were able to cherish their last home meet, gaining a victory of 122-54 against Madison Consolidated High School. Upcoming swim meets for the Olympians are against Seymour, Jeffersonville and Greensburg.
