The draft for the 2024 Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) season took place on April 15, 2024. The draft took place at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn, New York. 

The 2024 WNBA Draft was a game-changer for the Indiana Fever and the state of Indiana. Indiana Fever won the lottery for the second time to get the top pick overall in the draft. Cailin Clark, the number one pick overall, has not only brought her exceptional talent to the team but also a wave of popularity. Her selection by Indiana Fever has elevated the team’s status and brought the spotlight to the state of Indiana.

Clark previously played as a guard for the Iowa Hawkeyes women’s basketball team at the University of Iowa and will now be making her move to the state of Indiana to continue her basketball career. After starting to play basketball at just the age of five, Clark has turned her passion for basketball into a career and has already won many awards, including AP Player of the Year, the Honda Sports Award, the United States Basketball Writers Association National Player of the Year and the Wade Trophy.
