Senior diver continues to break records

This past Saturday Cordell Glass, a diver for the Columbus East Olympians, broke yet another record for diving.

The senior scored a 472.6 on his one meter dive which shattered the previous record of 457.15. Glass’s previous best score was 428.

The most amazing fact about the achievement is that the record has stood at Jeffersonville since 1976.

This isn’t the first time that Glass has shined bright for Columbus East during his high school diving career. He also holds the Columbus East six dive record as well as the eleven dive record that have both stood since 1973.

“I have broken three records so far. I am very proud of these accomplishments and am still striving to bring the scores higher every time that I compete” said Glass about his accomplishments so far.

The senior will have another chance this coming Monday to compete and and show of his superb skills during the IHSAA Swimming and Diving Sectional on February 20 at Columbus North.
