There are several sports teams in high school, but there are also some well-known sports clubs or travel leagues. Student athletes mainly do one or the other, but several do both....

Girls Cross Country Advances to Semi-State

The girls cross country team competed at Regionals on Saturday with an average 5k time of 21:21 and a final score of 125. Placing fifth out of nine teams, the girls advanced onto Semi-State, which takes place this Saturday on the 26th.

It was another historic Friday Night Lights. East coach Bob Gaddis was recognized for his 200th win as the Olympian's head coach, homecoming courts were announced, and the Olympians manhandled their opponents, Flyod Central, in a 41-14 victory.

The annual Powderpuff game of flag football took place on Wednesday. The seniors were the ultimate champions, winning against the sophomores in the first round and the freshmen in the second round.

The East Olympians shut out the Bedford Stars in a 4-0 victory as they continue their trek towards the State Championship. Goalkeeper Zach Roberts also tied the East record for most shutouts in a high school career.
