The Columbus East football squad hosts Floyd Central on Friday night. The Highlanders be coming in with a lot of momentum following a win last week that put their win streak at four. The Olympians also have quite a momentum boost with a respectable five-game win streak.

This game has a lot of hype surrounding it due to the fact that this match-up features the top two teams in the Hoosier Hills Conference. East enters with a 5-0 record (3-0 HHC) and Floyd Central will arrive at Stafford Field 4-1 (3-0 HHC).

The Olympians look to continue their huge success offensively on the ground. The Olympians already have eclipsed over 1,500 rushing yards in just five games.

“Our offensive line is great every game and Coach Gaddis really knows how to prepare is each week for our opponent,” said sophomore running back Jamon Hogan.

East had huge running success in the past from current Purdue running back Markell Jones, and this year’s backs are carrying the legacy very well.

“Our preparation each week is put together really well plus we have a great offensive line combined with a great backfield,” said junior offensive lineman Ben Elsbury.

A strong offensive line combined with elite running backs always generates good results for a football team. East has the right formula and looks to continue to use it to further their success this season.
