What has been your favorite part about being an Olympian?

“My favorite part about being an Olympian is the people that I’ve met because I went to East. The atmosphere is so encouraging. We have the best teachers in town, and I know some of the friendships I have made here are going to be life long.”

What is your favorite memory from East?

“My favorite memories at East were the East vs. North rivalry games. I got to be on the court/field playing in the games and in the student section cheering both were so much fun.”

Is there any teacher or coach that has made an impact on your life?

“One teacher that made an impact on me was Mrs. Swank. Unfortunately,  she was only at East one year. She was my English 10 Honors teacher sophomore year. Her military background inspired grit in everyone. She was able to adapt her teaching style to how we learned best and because of that a class that not many people love became something I looked forward to going to every day.”

What class would you recommend for other students to take?

“I would recommend students to stay in foreign language classes all four years. I took Spanish classes and they were a lot of fun, plus it’s a great skill to have once you graduate.”

What are your future plans?

“In August, I am going to attend Marian University in Indianapolis to continue my softball career and be in the Pre-Physicians Assistant program. I plan to major in Biology and minor in Health Sciences and Spanish.”

What are you most looking forward to in your future?

“I am excited to travel to different colleges playing with my team, to meet new people, and to have fun living in a bigger city.”
