This Friday night, the Columbus East Olympians will face off against the Whiteland Warriors in what is projected to be a shootout. Both teams are highly ranked in the top half of 5A football this season.

Whiteland, like East, runs a highly run based offense and is sure to try to continue their ground success against the Olympians. However, not so fast says the Olympian football squad.

“We’ve seen the film and have seen what they can do. They’re a good team; the game won’t be easy. I still definitely think that our team has the advantage. We’re really well put together and when we play together we can’t be stopped,” sophomore Zach Clark said.

The contest doesn’t look to be easy for either team. East will be coming in 10-0 and Whiteland at 7-2 on the season. Columbus East is 2nd and Whiteland is 6th in 5A.

“It’s going to be a great game for sure. Nothing against any of the other teams or games, but this is definitely going to be our biggest and most important game yet. We’re ready to go,”
sophomore Caleb Bower said.

The outlook for the game can only begin to tell the story of what looks to be a great contest. Make sure to come to Stafford Field this Friday to see the Olympians take on the Warriors in the semifinal of East’s sectional.
