Students have been asked to avoid the T Stairwells due to large amounts of water entering the building from the roof. Water is seeping through the floor on the third floor next to the stairwell and from the ceiling on the second floor in the stairwell.

The minor flooding, which began during 6^th mod today, is being contained in trashcans and buckets. As of 8^th mod, the staff is waiting for the rest of the water to drain out in order to fix the leaks.

There is speculation that the flooding originated in the roof, possibly from a clogged drain.

“Something on the roof was not working correctly so the water was coming in. It is under control,” said East Principal Mark Newell.

The T Stairwells will be reopened to student traffic tomorrow.
