Students are sometimes faced with hours of homework when they get home. There are many students that have practice after school, and they have to go straight home afterwards and do their homework. If students understand a topic, they should not have to continue doing assignments over those topics. There are a lot of teachers that give out homework for busy work, just so their students are doing something. The point of education is that students learn based on curriculum, and if they are confident in their ability with these topics, they should not have to do assignments such as worksheets every night. Large assignments such as research papers and projects are still very useful, but nightly homework is not necessary. Homework should be optional, if anything. The responsibility should be given to the students to ensure they learn and understand the material so they can do well on tests and quizzes.

I think homework assignments are still very effective for all classes, no matter the difficulty. Homework is used by most teachers and helps students learn the material that is being taught. Some homework assignments are tedious, but it is very important to complete because it helps students with learning and comprehending new material. Without some type of homework, school would almost be worthless. If students don’t get homework they can’t practice what they learned in class on future exams. Homework helps kids study and prepare for tests and quizzes. Homework isn’t just for learning; it also keeps kids busy and on task. Having homework makes students smarter overall and can help them with everyday tasks. Teachers need to keep giving out homework to all students because it has many benefits for educational purposes.
