Long-time Faculty Member Retires
December 20, 2017
After 32 years of dedication to Columbus East, the beloved teaching assistant, Mrs. Romine, is retiring. Over her many years of working at East she has come to love the diverse student body.
“My favorite thing about East is being with the variety of kids I have been with over the years and to see how everything has changed,” said Romine.
Students are not the only people who will miss her though, she has become a constant in the lives of the faculty at East. Those in her department, the Science Department, will miss her greatly.
“The science department won’t be the same around here without Mrs. Romine. We have always enjoyed working with her, she’s a lot of fun. She has always worked really well with the kids and been such a fun person to talk to with good stories and things to share,” said Derek Chastain.

I remember Mrs. Romine helping me with my biology assignments during my freshman year and I remember being a little shy like usual, but I am glad she noticed that I was having troubles because I most likely would not have understood it on my own. I will definitely miss seeing her around school when we go back next year. ❤️?
