Scheduling for Next School Year
February 8, 2018
The process of scheduling for next year’s classes starts Feb. 5, 2018.
“I would say for the month of February, be here on Mondays and Thursdays,” school counselor Taube said.
“We’ll start with ninth graders on February fifth, then go to tenth graders on the twelfth, and finally do eleventh graders on the nineteenth.”
Scheduling will essentially take place over two days for each grade.
“Counselors will be coming into your english classes on a Monday. The counselors will give a presentation and answer any general questions that students have,” Taube said.
“The Thursday after that, all students will be required to come to the library to actually go through the formal process of selecting their classes for next year.”
Students are expected to report to the library during their resource.
“The counselors will guide them through that process when they get to the library. They just have to show up and we’ll take it from there,” Taube said.
Further guidance is provided for students who are still undecided on what classes to take.
“There’s a lot of information on our East webpage. There’s all kinds of information regarding academics and scheduling, including those for each grade level that goes through and specifies which classes they should take,” Taube said.
“I would also suggest going back to their four-year plan that they created in Keystone. They’ve maybe changed some things since then, but that should give them an idea of what classes they’re supposed to take.”
Scheduling for freshmen, sophomores, and juniors is expected to finish Feb. 22, 2018.
