Bryn Eudy, a senior at Columbus East High School, had a surprise of her life waiting for her Monday morning.

Eudy was announced as one of The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship winners of 2016. The scholarship provides full-tuition, required fees and a $900 book stipend for up to eight semesters. To be a candidate for the scholarship, seniors who reside in Bartholomew County must have a GPA of a 3.33 (on a 4.0 scale), be thoroughly involved in the community and school and be attending an accredited public or private college or university in the state of Indiana.

“I feel very lucky and blessed,” Eudy said. “It was an honor just to be nominated, and all of the finalists were very deserving.”

Eudy expressed her gratitude for everyone who helped her along the way in her education career and day-to-day life.

After graduation, Eudy plans on attending Indiana University as a member of the Ernie Pyle Scholars Program, majoring in Journalism and minoring in Informatics or Marketing.
