Name: Oviraptor

Time Period: The Oviraptor lived around 70 million years ago during the late Cretaceous period.

Diet: The Oviraptor was a carnivore and was believed to eat small animals and the eggs of other dinos.

Size: Oviraptors grew to be about six to eight feet long and weighed from 55 to 75 pounds.

Fun Facts:

  • The name Oviraptor means egg hunter.
  • Many scientists believe that the Oviraptor could run as fast as 43 mph or as fast as a modern ostrich.
  • Oviraptors had very large hands, feet, and a brain compared to their sizes.
