East falls short in rivalry matchup with North

Columbus East and Columbus North battled in one of the bigger rivalries in high school football Friday night at Stafford Field, The Olympians and the Bulldogs had another great go; this time the victors being the Bulldogs 34-17.
The game was closely contested after the first two quarters, with North leading 13-10 at halftime. However, the Bulldogs never ran out of gas in the second half, ending the game on a scoring run, accumulating 21 unanswered points.
However, spirits weren’t broken after the game, and East senior defensive back Caleb Pettit still had high hopes about the season.
“We played as a team and that’s all that matters,” Pettit said. “They’re one of the best teams we’ll play all year; we needed this. All we need now is a great week in practice and we’ll be back even stronger next time.”
The Olympians (1-1) come back to action next week against Seymour, away at 7 p.m.
