Coffee in Columbus

Coffee+in+Columbus

Founded in 1950, Dunkin’ Donuts is known for its world-leading baked goods and coffees, serving more than 3 million customers each and every day. Dunkin’ Donuts is the home to an estimated 9,000 restaurants in the U.S. alone, and in 2021, Columbus, Indiana will be included in the U.S. locations.

According to a representative of the corporate headquarters in Canton Massachusetts, two Dunkin’ Donuts are projected to be located in Columbus.

Dunkin’ brands are not only in ownership of Dunkin’ Donuts but Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream. Officials have yet to confirm if the franchises will be combined or just Dunkin’.

The first location will be located on the southwest end of the Northern Village Shopping Center close to National Road. The chain will be 1,882 square feet for customers to enjoy Dunkin Donuts baked goods, beverages, and more.

The second location for Dunkin’ will be at an estimated 3,000 square feet – about half of the former Daily’s Farm Market building at 2255 W. Jonathan Moore Pike.

Plans for the locations were recently announced in November, as associate city planner Tyler Hauck has stated.

“Right now, both projects are under administrative review, which might take up to two months to complete,” Hauck said.

The waiting period should not be an issue for Dunkin’ lovers, as Statista.com stated that the franchise accumulates an estimated 1.32 billion dollars in revenue in 2019.

When the first franchise was open, donuts were five cents each, and coffee was ten cents, according to Dunkin Donuts. Now, donuts estimate at 99 cents per donut, and anywhere from 2 dollars to 4 for a coffee.

Dunkin’ now sells 30 cups of coffee every second, on average. That amounts to 1.7 billion cups of hot and iced coffee globally every year, all of which are taste-tested by Dunkin’ coffee experts who try 200 cups of coffee every day.

With over 250,000 variations and ways to order a cup of coffee or beverage at Dunkin’ Donuts, there is something for everyone to love. The projections of the new locations in Columbus are going to be a delicious addition to the city in 2021 and beyond.
