East is full of wonderful and amazing individuals who each share their own life stories. Jami Porter, a senior at East, has a diverse story of her classes, academics and sports experiences throughout her high school career. 

Porter contributes to East by including herself in extracurricular activities and sports. These sports greatly impact her life by allowing her to bond with her peers and coaches.

“I’m in both track and cross country,” Porter said. “I like running and I like being with my friends.”

Porter’s interests stem more than the simple sports team, though. She also finds many interests in the classes which are offered at East. 

“English is my best subject and it’s my favorite class, so I’m really excited for it this year,” Porter said. “I really like writing, so that’s what I’m really looking forward to.”

Porter is also enrolled on the staff as Design Editor of The Oracle, a class dedicated to the creation of East’s newspaper. 

“I am really excited to share my passion for design this year with our staff as Design Editor,” Porter said.

Porter also has big plans for her future. She is interested in pursuing a career in Business Management at Indiana University.

“I love being here at East, but I am ready to move on to the next chapter of my life,” Porter said.
