East has a multitude of students, most of whom participate in sports and other athletic events. East junior Eleanor Schlaudroff is a member of the National Honor Society and Student Assembly.
Schlaudroff works very hard to commit to the athletic and extracurricular activities that she participates in. After going to North for her freshman year, Schlaudroff had a change of heart and realized that she needed to change her path and transferred to East.
“In eighth grade, all of my friends went to East and I basically just knew more people at East and I really liked the small environment of East,” Schlaudroff said.
Schlaudroff enjoys playing three different sports throughout the year. She participates in cross country, basketball, and track at East.
“My favorite sport that I play is definitely basketball because I have been playing it for the longest and I am the most familiar with it,” Schlaudroff said.
Schlaudroff works very hard on and off-season to ensure that she can perform the best that she is capable of when it comes time to take the step onto the basketball court. She enjoys attending summer workouts in the weight room with the rest of her team so she can build her muscles and increase her strength.
Schlaudroff also enjoys cross country and track as well. She runs every day at practice as well as on her own time so that she stays in proper shape to compete for her teams.
“Track is a very close second though, because I kind of like to run and I get to spend a lot of time with all of my friends,” Schlaudroff said.
Schlaudroff has the drive and motivation that she needs to do what it takes to push herself to her limit. She loves sports and works hard to achieve her goals.
“I may not be where I want to be yet, but I will push myself to reach my goals no matter what it takes,” Schlaudroff said. “Even if it involves pushing myself to my limit.”
