East Junior Kendall Chapple wishes to be involved in many after-school activities. She is involved with the track team, throwing discus and shot put. Recently, she joined the cross country team, but as a manager, timing and making sure everyone is okay during practice and meets.
“I joined shot and discus freshman year, I used it as a new way to make friends and stay busy,” Chapple said. “I can go and practice and lift weights with my friends and my coach is amazing.”
Chapple is a part of other clubs at East as well. She is a member of the National Honors Society and Student Assembly. She also finds joy in some of her classes at East.
“As of right now, I am taking an art class, and I really enjoy making things. Resource is one of the top three,” Chapple said.
With the privilege of being an upperclassman, Chapple now has an unassigned resource. She has found it to be better than being at school for eighty-eight minutes.
“I have more freedom to go do things without the distractions of being in school,” Chapple said.
Recently Chapple joined the East newspaper, The Oracle, as a way to create connections within the school.
“I joined the newspaper because my friend was doing it and ever since I’ve been in this class, I have liked it,” Chapple said. “I can’t write as well but I feel designing would be more my specialty.”
