Kailani Scott is a sophomore this year and is pursuing her first year in Newspaper.
“When I was a freshman, a bunch of newspaper people told me it was a fun class¨ Scott said. “And I needed an arts credit anyway, so it worked out.¨
Scott is most interested in designing for the Oracle since she does not enjoy writing. She finds the designing aspect more appealing as an outlet to express herself and the topics the newspaper goes over.
¨I have been cheering for about five or six years, both competitive and school cheer.¨ Scott said
Scott is also a part of the East cheer team for the second year. She loves being able to show her spirit through cheer and support many of the school’s sports, both on and off the field or court. Having younger girls look up to her is a reason she stays so motivated.
¨When I was younger I always looked up to the high school cheerleaders, and now I hope some kids are able to look up to me,” said Scott.
Scott also voiced that math is her favorite school subject.
¨I’m a visual learner, so seeing math and how it works just processes in my brain easily.¨ Scott said ¨Algebra comes easier to me than geometry.¨
Although math is her favorite subject she hopes to obtain a degree in science at IU in the future.
¨I am in the C4 program for dentistry and I really enjoy it and hope it is something I can pursue in the future,¨ Scott said
Scott is looking forward to being a part of the Oracle this year and acquiring a better understanding of the newspaper.
