East Vs. Floyd Homecoming Game
On September 24, 2021, East continued one of their most loved traditions, the Homecoming football game. This tradition includes student representatives from each grade being introduced and walking across the track, showing their school pride.
Each grade had five boys and five girls representing their class.
Freshmen included: Jared Brooks, Boston Ely, Tyler Haymaker, James Moss,
Mason Reeves, Hayden Watts, Maddy Clement, Maddie Beyer, Maddison Mount and Delaney Babinec.
Sophomores included: Caaden Gault, Rolan Ryan, Henry Sims, Laird Stidham, Oliver Carr, Caroline Frost, Jenna Guse, Nadia Harris, Lauren Dixon and Lily Asher.
Juniors included: Peter Coriden, Ethan Duncan, Chase Zapfe, Ben Sylva, Sean Zieles, Claire Brooks, Heidi Murphy, Maddie Cline, Katey Rieckers and Sadhna Srikanth.
Seniors included: Ethan Ianni, Weston Romine, Korbin Hatcher, Jo Deckard, Noah Likens, Mallory Rupp, Olivia Shoaf, Reece Whitehead, Koryn Griewe and Cadence Gilley.
With East leading almost the entire game and each girl on homecoming court carrying lilies in honor of our friend, the late Lily Streeval, this night was very special for many East students. But, this night was especially memorable for two students, the homecoming king and queen, Weston Romine and Olivia Shoaf.
“I definitely was surprised.” Shoaf said “I was honored, I just really thought it was cool that my classmates voted for me.”
Looking back on last year, with plenty of adjustments due to the pandemic, having homecoming in person this school year was a great experience for students to interact with others, and demonstrate their East pride.
