The Return of Cobra Kai: S4 Review
The newest season of Cobra Kai was released on Netflix on Dec. 31, 2021. Like the three proceeding seasons, there are 10 episodes in this newest installment. The show is based on the original Karate Kid trilogy and the Netflix series follows the adult lives of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, played by Ralph Macchio and William Zabka respectively.
I have enjoyed every season of this series so far. It is action-packed, start to finish, and leaves the audience wondering what will happen next. This season was no different. The first episode starts off right where the last episode of season three ends; LaRusso and Lawrence form an uneasy alliance to unite their dojos in order to defeat the infamous Cobra Kai dojo once and for all. The alliance is short-lived, as the two teachers realize they are too conflicting to work together. The rest of the season carries through the plot of preparing for the All Valley Tournament, where the ultimate showdown between the three dojos will take place with plenty of drama mixed throughout.
I thought this was one of the best seasons in this show so far. The actors do a great job portraying the characters, and a familiar face from the original trilogy, Terry Silver played by Thomas Ian Griffith, is reintroduced. The plot line kept me interested throughout the whole season; I am excited to see what season five has in store for this show.
