East vs. Seymour Girls Tennis
The first conference match for the East girls’ tennis team was on May 9 against Seymour. Senior Cathrine Millwood and junior Katey Rieckers had a successful match, winning in the third round of their match. This season has been one with many frustrations regarding the weather, where many of the girls’ matches were rained out, so they were excited to be able to play in this tournament. Unfortunately, the overall score of the match was 0-5, but East’s team spirits are high and the girls are ready to take on the remaining two teams in the tournament. Their following conference matches, May 11 and 13 versus Jeffersonville and Jennings County, ended in a loss for the season but the team has high hopes for sectionals.
