Despite a well fought battle, on September 8, 2022, the Olympians Boys Tennis team was defeated by Batesville. The scores of the night include a loss at one singles of 2-6, 1-6, a loss at two singles of 1-6, 3-6, a loss at three singles of 4-6, 1-6, and losses at both doubles positions of 1-6, 1-6 and 2-6, 0-6. Overall the final score of the match was 0-5. Junior Brady Redelman, three singles, reflects on the loss.
“I think we played well,” Redelman said. “Batesville is a tough team to beat and unfortunately we gave up a lot of games on deuces.”
Even though the season has not come to an end just yet, Redelman looks forward to what his senior season will bring next year.
“We put up a good fight,” Redelman said. “I could see us as being a real threat to their team next year.”
Although the scores were low, team spirits were high for the night. Both JV and Varsity players encouraged teammates and worked at uplifting each other. With positivity as a major driving force for this team, the Olympians tennis program anticipates the rest of their season. Their next match will be on Saturday, September 10th, for the Shelbyville Invitational at 9:00 am.
