Charli D’Amelio released her first song at 18 years old in October 2022. The song is a piano ballad called “If You Ask Me To,” and is focused on heartbreak and unrequited love. Charli is best known for how quickly she gained fame from her TikTok career. She was the most followed creator on TikTok’s platform for two years and three months with billions of followers. After becoming such a popular influencer, Charli wanted to try and make a name for herself in Hollywood. 

In the midst of COVID-19 back in 2020, Charli starred in a movie called “StarDog and TurboCat,” with the role ofTurbo. Fans were disappointed in the poor storyline and overall quality of the movie, giving it a 3.5 rating. Charli went on to a more unfiltered type of acting by starring in “The D’Amelio Show” On Hulu. The first season was released Sept. 3 2021 and went on to gain enough fame to produce a second season. 

Recently Charli reached for the stars by performing on the thirty-first season of “Dancing with the Stars’ ‘ alongside her dance partner Mark Ballas. Charli has had a very successful career at just the age of eighteen. On the other hand, Dixie D’Amelio has purely gained fame from her younger sister Charli’s TikTok platform. 

Dixie quickly followed up her TikTok career with her music career. At first Dixie received backlash but she is finally gaining respect as a music artist. She is doing pretty well for herself from just starting out as Charli’s sister. Many people wonder if Charli is making music because of her sister. Dixie has not commented much about her sister’s music career other than that she is proud of her and just wanted Charli to be “true to herself.” The song itself is mediocre, it sounds like other “wannabe singers” songs. I definitely expected a heartbreak song from Charli. She does have the capacity to sing but it is nothing groundbreaking. Now I wonder if Charli will continue to release music as a “singer.”
