On Tuesday, April 25 the East Academic Super Bowl Teams all competed at Shelbyville High School in the area competition. The Fine Arts team and Interdisciplinary teams won their rounds, and English, Math, Social Studies and Science all finished in second place in their rounds. East had the highest overall team score with a score of 103.

East is in Class 1, which is the largest school class. The individual team’s score must be one of the top seven scores in the state in Class 1 to be able to qualify for the State Finals. Although the Fine Arts team won their round in the area competition, their score was not high enough to qualify for state. The Interdisciplinary team and Math team both placed in the top seven in the state, so they qualified for the State Finals.

The Math team finished with a score of 23 out of 25, giving them sixth place. The Interdisciplinary team finished with an 18 out of 25, giving them fifth place overall.
