East rolled past Cathedral for a 42-13 victory. The win punches East’s ticket to the state finals a year after falling in the championship game.

East was led by a powerful run game including Senior Jamon Hogan’s 167 yards rushing yards. Senior Quarterback Josh Major took advantage of an early Irish turnover to give the O’s a quick 7-0 lead. The game was close through the first half until East capitalized on Cathedral mistakes. The O’s scored two touchdowns in the final minute of the first half, including a pass to Junior Jonah Wichman with four seconds left. East continued its success in the second half to run away with the victory. The defense stepped up and limited a high powered Cathedral offense.

The win keeps East’s season alive as they will play for a state title this Friday at 7 p.m. Check out the photos from the thrilling victory.
