The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has been a popular novel since its release in May 2020. Fans of The Hunger Games series have been anticipating the movie’s premier for years. 

The Ballad of the Songbirds and Snakes movie was released on Nov 17, 2023, leaving fans thrilled to see the differences between the novel and movie and to see characters in action. 

The Ballad of the Songbirds and Snakes takes fans back 64 years before the Hunger Games existed and how the Hunger Games came about. The film follows young Coriolanus Snow and his relationship with Lucy Gray. 

Since the premiere, there has been mixed feedback from fans, but most have been pleased with the film. As of Nov. 30, the movie has a 3.5/5 on Rotten Tomatoes. 

Personally, the movie was not what I was expecting, as I did not read the book. Although it is nearly two and a half hours long it was interesting and kept my attention most of the time. 

The soundtrack is enjoyable and adds emotion to each scene, yet it is too much at times. The acting was good and overall I believe the movie is worth watching.
