Sophomore Dominic Piper is a face seen in the hallways daily, just in passing. However, no one stops to talk to him about his day or what his interests are. So I took that into my hands and I discovered his amazing story. He is smart and dedicated to his interests. He has a bright future ahead of him, and I am excited to tell his story.
Piper has fairly busy days both in and out of school. For A days, he starts in English, moves on to his resource, third mod he has weights, and finishes his A days with Astronomy with Hambling. His B days consist of AP Chemistry, Algebra, and Photography and ends with ACP US History.
“I usually don’t have much homework. I can get it all done in resource for during extra time in class” Piper says.
However, school is not the only Piper has to worry about. He is also part of the wrestling team. With it being wrestling season, Piper’s schedule is packed with practices and meets, having four or five practices a week and a meet almost every Saturday. He spends about 10 or more hours a week just wrestling.
Piper also is hopeful to get his pilot’s license sometime next year. He first found his love for aviation when he was taken up in a plane as a kid. He has always loved flying and airplanes, so he has taken action and is in the Bakalar Flying Club to earn his license.
“There are a few college-aged people, Laird, me, and also the older people that love to fly.” Piper says.
