On Jan. 27, East’s Olympians faught a fierce battle against the Bloomington North Cougars. Before the game even began, East had suffered a loss: Junior Mason Reeves had fractured his leg and was not able to get on the court.
The game began with numerous points from the Cougars. In the first two minutes, Bloomington North had made almost five baskets. After another minute, Keaton Lawson blocks a Cougar and drives through the paint, making East’s first basket.
The first quarter ended with a balanced 14-15, but as the second quarter began, East’s luck changed. With a few injuries and a large upset, the fans went into halftime with 25-37.
The third quarter was fairly similar with both teams pushing their scores greatly: 35-59. In the final quarter, number 22 on the Cougar’s team fouled out, giving East an edge on Bloomington North.
However, as the tension grew grim, East left the court with a loss: 52-79. East may have been beaten, but they will use this defeat as a way to better themselves and their team.
