Once a year hundreds of thousands of people gather around a T.V. to watch grown men tackle each other. Some may spend thousands of dollars on tickets for seats farthest from the field at the top of a stadium. Fans of all teams bet hundreds and thousands of their hard-earned money on a game they cannot control. The point of all of this is to iterate how important this one week is to the majority of our country.  Almost every team has their rival team, but three specifically had die-hard fans on the edge of their seats.

Nov. 25 Michigan Wolverines took on The Ohio Buckeyes at Michigan Stadium. The Ohio State Buckeyes had a beautiful winning streak of eight years from 2012-2019. Due to COVID-19, no one had a rivalry game in 2020, continuing in 2021 the Michigan Wolverines oddly beat The Ohio State Buckeyes. Following in 2022 and now 2023 Michigan Wolverines pulled through with a nauseating win.

The game was a struggle to watch, stemming from The Ohio State Buckeyes’ waste of timeouts in the first quarter. Adding on to the inconsistency of The Buckeye’s new quarterback, Kyle Mccord, Buckeye fans across the country were appalled. michigan had an all-right season and was in favor of winning this year, due to their two-year streak before this year’s win.

Michigan’s quarterback JJ Mcarthy is one to watch along with their famously known offense that came in clutch for their win this year. Many people believe the defeat of The Ohio Buckeyes was not a fair one as Michigan was found guilty of stealing other teams’ signs which is extremely illegal in college football. It got so out of hand that Michigan’s coach Jim Harbaugh had to sit out of three games including this year’s rival game.

The Ohio State Buckeyes loss was a wounding one to watch this year. Some blame it on Ryan Day’s poor calls and coaching the past games, or lack of skill in certain players. Or maybe Michigan truly did have an advantage by stealing signals used by their historical rivals The Ohio State Buckeyes.
